Perkadox BC-FF
Product Detail

Description

Perkadox® BC-FF is a dicumyl peroxide (DCP) from Nouryon, used for the (co)polymerization of styrene between 110–165°C. Unlike the MEKP and BPO peroxides on this site used to cure unsaturated polyester resins, BC-FF is a polymerization/crosslinking peroxide — in a mass (bulk) process it can be used to increase polymerization rates, and as a synergistic co-agent with halogen-containing flame retardants, it helps produce flame-retardant expandable polystyrene.

Application

Used across polymer production and polymer crosslinking market segments.

In a mass process Perkadox® BC-FF can be advantageously used to increase polymerization rates. Perkadox® BC-FF may also be used as synergistic co-agent in combination with halogen containing flame retardants to produce flame-retardant expandable polystyrene.

Perkadox® BC-FF can be used for the market segments: polymer production and polymer crosslinking with their different applications/functions. For more information please check our website and/or contact us.

Thermal Stability

As an organic peroxide, Perkadox® BC-FF is thermally unstable and can undergo self-accelerating decomposition above a certain temperature threshold. Its Self-Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT), determined by the Heat Accumulation Storage Test per UN transport testing criteria, is 75°C (167°F).
