Perkadox® GB-50X is a free-flowing 50% peroxide formulation on a phthalate-free carrier for curing unsaturated polyester resins and (meth)acrylic resins at ambient and elevated temperatures. Provides excellent solubility in standard thermoset curing applications.
Perkadox GB-50X is a free-flowing powder of 50 % dibenzoyl peroxide (BPO, CAS 94-36-0) on a phthalate-free carrier, from Nouryon. The fine, non-caking granules disperse and dissolve quickly in unsaturated polyester and (meth)acrylic resins.
It cures these resins at ambient and elevated temperatures: up to 80 °C it needs an aromatic tertiary amine accelerator, above 80 °C no accelerator is required. Because it does not dissolve completely clear, it is not suited to parts that need high transparency; for those, Nouryon recommends Perkadox GB-50L. - UP resins: cure at ambient temperature with an aromatic tertiary amine accelerator, or above 80 °C without accelerator.
- (Meth)acrylic resins: ambient and elevated-temperature cure with fast dispersion and dissolution.
- Not for high-transparency parts: use Perkadox GB-50L where a fully clear cure is required.
Store Perkadox GB-50X below 25 °C in tightly closed original packaging, in a dry, well-ventilated area away from heat, ignition sources and direct sunlight. Keep it away from reducing agents such as amines, acids, alkalis and heavy metal compounds. Its SADT is 55 °C.
