LOCTITE® MR 5923™ — commonly called LOCTITE® 5923™ or simply Aviation Gasket Sealant — takes a different approach to sealing than the anaerobic flange sealants in this range, like LOCTITE® 515™ and 573™: it's a solvent-based, air-drying liquid that changes from a brush-on liquid into a pliable, tacky film as the solvent evaporates, rather than curing anaerobically between metal faces. That air-dry mechanism makes it well suited as a gasket dressing on solid gaskets, on close-fitting machined surfaces, and on threaded connections — its slow-drying formula gives more working time than a fast-set product would. It's rated across an unusually wide -54°C to +204°C service range, which is part of why it's a long-standing choice in industrial, aircraft, and marine engine applications where both temperature swings and close-tolerance fits are common.
