Description
Palatal® DL-901 is an unsaturated polyester resin based on isophthalic acid and standard glycols, dissolved in styrene, with medium viscosity and high reactivity. Composite products based on Palatal® DL-901 feature excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance to seawater, and are less prone to cracking. The resin has high elongation at break and good fiberglass wettability.

Benefits
● High elongation and excellent mechanical properties
● Not easy to crack
● Good impregnation
● Excellent water and seawater resistance
● Food contact
Application
Palatal® DL-901 is intended for glass reinforced parts with improved mechanical properties that require outstanding resistance to hydrolysis and low water absorption (tanks, vessels, hydraulic engineering/pipes and boats). Furthermore, Palatal® DL-901 is used as a base resin for high quality coatings and gelcoats. Parts and coatings made from Palatal® DL-901 show only little tendency to cracking. Palatal® DL-901 resin is designed for ease of fabrication using hand lay-up,pultrusion, filament winding, artificial stone and casting grid techniques.
●Palatal® DL-901 is supplied without an accelerator. Under room-temperature curing conditions, it must be treated with cobalt or other accelerators by the processor.
●For pultrusion, select the curing system according to the specific equipment, product, process temperature, and pultrusion speed. Recommended curing agent dosage: 0.75–2.0% of total resin weight.
●Maintain shop temperatures between 18°C and 32°C and humidity between 40% and 90% for consistent gel times and high part quality.
Store in a dark, dry place at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C. Shelf life is reduced when stored at higher temperatures, and resin properties may change during storage. Shelf life of styrene-containing resin is significantly reduced when exposed to light — store in the dark, in 100% light-tight containers only, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
