Product Description
LOCTITE® SI 5910® — commonly known as LOCTITE® 5910 — is a one-part, room-temperature-vulcanizing (RTV) oxime silicone sealant built specifically for excellent resistance to automotive engine oils, a property that sets it apart from the acrylic anaerobic flange sealants like LOCTITE® 515™ and 573™ elsewhere in this range. Where those anaerobic products need to be confined between metal faces to cure, SI 5910® is a thixotropic black paste that cures by moisture in the air, giving it the flexibility to seal stamped sheet metal covers — timing covers and oil sumps are named applications — where the joint sees ongoing movement rather than staying perfectly rigid. Its thixotropic nature also keeps the uncured product from migrating after application, useful for vertical or overhead sealing work.
