Description

Palatal® P 61 TV-956 N is a pre-accelerated, thixotropic unsaturated polyester resin based on orthophthalic acid and standard glycols, dissolved in styrene. The resin has low viscosity and high reactivity, with an incorporated color change system. Components based on it feature good tack-free property and good curing in thin lamination, even under high-humidity environments.

Application

Palatal® P 61 TV-956 N is well suited for hand lay-up and spray processes. It rapidly impregnates reinforcing materials during lay-up and does not run off vertical surfaces. It suits the marine, sanitary, leisure, and cabin industries.

Palatal® P 61 TV-956 N has been approved by China Classification Society (CCS) and Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR) for boat building.

Processing Guidelines

● MEKP is the recommended curing agent, at 1–2.5% dosage; adjust dosage according to environment temperature and process time

● This is a thixotropic resin — stir gently before use

Application Guidelines

Room-temperature-cured product should be thoroughly post-cured for best properties. Cure at room temperature for 24 hours before post-curing. It is better to leave the part at room temperature for 24–48 hours before assembly processes such as drilling.

Storage & Handling

Store in a dark, dry place at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C. Shelf life is reduced when stored at higher temperatures, and resin properties may change during storage. Store in the dark, in 100% light-tight containers only, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight. A Material Safety Data Sheet is available on request.
