LOCTITE® Frekote® B-15™ is a solvent-based mold sealer, not a release agent on its own, but the step that makes release coatings perform at their best. It's formulated specifically to fill in micro porosity, small surface scratches, and other imperfections on composite and metal molds before a release agent goes on. Applied as a base coat, B-15™ gives a Frekote® release agent a smoother, more uniform surface to bond to — which translates into better release consistency and fewer defects carried through from the tool surface into the finished part. It's a high-thermal-stability formulation, so it holds up through the same cure and bake cycles as the release coatings applied over it.
