Product Detail

Description

AEROSIL® 200 HV is a hydrophilic fumed silica with a specific surface area of 200 m²/g, supplied as the high-viscosity (HV) industrial grade for resin, coating, and rubber applications. It disperses into liquid resin and binder systems to build thixotropic rheology — thickening the system at rest to prevent sagging and pigment settling, while shear-thinning during application or spraying for easy workability.

AEROSIL® 200 HV shares the same 200 m²/g surface area as our food/feed-grade AEROSIL® 200 F, but is processed and supplied for industrial resin and rubber systems rather than food-contact applications. If you're formulating unsaturated polyester, gelcoat, or laminating resin systems, AEROSIL® 200 HV is the grade to use.

Typical Application

Paints and coatings— sag control and pigment suspension

Unsaturated polyester resins,laminating resins and gel coats — thixotropy control for vertical/overhead lay-up and spray application

Adhesives and sealants— anti-sag and rheology modification

• Rheology and thixotropy control of liquid systems, binders, polymers, etc.

• Used as anti-settling, thickening, anti-sagging agent.

• Reinforcement of HTV-and RTV-2K silicone rubber.

• Improvement of free flow and anti-caking characteristics of powders
