Terephthalic Unsaturated Polyester Resin

SWANCOR 963 is a terephthalic unsaturated polyester resin. It offers excellent mechanical properties. It has good water resistance and corrosion resistance properties. It is widely used on pipes and tanks by hand-lay and winding, other equipments needed ordinary hemical resistance and heat resistance, FRP lining, resin mortar(sand: resin≦5) laminates based on SWANCOR 963 are also suitable for potable water and food contact application. Comply with U.S Food and Drug Aaministration (21 CFR 177.2420) after post-curing and treating by steam.

Description

SWANCOR 963 is a terephthalic unsaturated polyester resin offering excellent mechanical properties along with good water resistance and corrosion resistance. It is widely used for pipes and tanks fabricated by hand lay-up and winding, and for other equipment requiring ordinary chemical and heat resistance. Resin mortar laminates (sand:resin ratio ≤5) based on SWANCOR 963 are also suitable for potable water and food contact applications, complying with US FDA 21 CFR 177.2420 after post-curing and steam treatment.

A pre-accelerated version, SWANCOR 963-P, is also available, offering a shorter, more consistent gel time (20–30 min with 1.0% MEKP) at the cost of a shorter shelf life (3 months versus 6 months for the standard, unpromoted grade).
