Product
Description
Diethylene Glycol (DEG, CAS 111-46-6), chemically known as 2,2'-oxydiethanol, is a colorless, transparent, hygroscopic viscous liquid with the molecular formula C₄H₁₀O₃. It combines the chemical properties of alcohols and ethers, making it a versatile industrial solvent, reactive intermediate, and processing aid. Our industrial-grade DEG is manufactured to high purity standards (99% min), ensuring reliable performance in resin synthesis, gas processing, and fluid formulations.
Application
* Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR) & Polyurethane: Serves as a key intermediate in UPR production, enhancing the resin's flexibility and durability, and as a soft segment raw material in polyurethane synthesis to improve material elasticity.
* Brake Fluid & Antifreeze: Functions as a high-boiling point (245℃) base fluid in hydraulic brake systems, providing stable
performance under high temperatures, and as a component in industrial antifreeze formulations for heat transfer systems.
* Gas Dehydrating Agent: Acts as an efficient desiccant for natural gas and industrial gas processing, removing water vapor to prevent pipeline corrosion and hydrate formation.
* Solvent for Ink, Coating & Textile: Serves as a high-boiling solvent for nitrocellulose, resins, printing inks, and dyes, and as a softening/finishing agent for textiles to improve fabric smoothness.
* Plasticizer & Chemical Intermediate: Used as a raw material for synthesizing plasticizers to enhance polymer flexibility, and as an intermediate for producing surfactants, lubricants, and specialty chemicals.
* Humectant & Processing Aid: Functions as a humectant in adhesives, tobacco, and industrial formulations to retain moisture, and as a processing aid in rubber and resin manufacturing.
