0BLUESIL RES 9522 A2 is a solventless methyl silicone resin which has been specially designed for mould release.
BLUESIL RES 9522 A2 is a solventless methyl silicone resin from Elkem, purpose-built for mould release across a broad range of materials: cast polyurethane elastomers and soft/rigid PU foams (e.g. dashboards, shoe soles, upholstery, thermal insulation, and sound-proofing parts), melamine, phenolic, and polyester and epoxy resins, and rubbers.

Mould release agent on metal moulds
Protective agent on moulds and membranes made of RTV silicone rubber
The mould should be perfectly clean, grease-free, dry, and if possible pre-heated above 50°C. BLUESIL RES 9522 A2 is diluted in a solvent or solvent mixture and applied by brush, pad, or spray gun. Reapplication frequency depends on mould complexity and the aggressiveness of the moulding material — generally every 2 to 10 moulding operations. A dilution of 3–5% is suitable for simple moulds; complex moulds may require 10% dilution in the same solvents. To slow evaporation and prevent premature setting during spraying, consider a solvent with a higher boiling point, and allow more drying time before moulding.
Certain rigid or semi-rigid PUR foam formulations can attack RTV moulds or membranes. In these cases, applying a layer of BLUESIL RES 9522 A2 at 5–10% dilution in appropriate solvents provides effective protection.
If moulded articles will be glued, painted, varnished, or printed afterward, carefully degrease the treated surface first, and test before full-scale application. For paints and varnishes, adding 0.1–0.5% BLUESIL FLD 47 V 100 to V 350 to the paint or varnish can often prevent a lack of adhesion — again, test before committing to full production.
Please consult the Safety Data Sheet for BLUESIL RES 9522 A2 before use.
For solvent-free silicone release suited to a wide range of resin and PU foam systems, BLUESIL RES 9522 A2 is an alternative to traditional carnauba paste wax releases such as TR-102 or TR-104 — particularly where odour-free application or compatibility with RTV silicone tooling matters.
