Perkadox BC-40B-PD is dicumyl peroxide (DCP, CAS 80-43-3) at 39–41 % on an inert carrier, supplied as an off-white powder by Nouryon. This monofunctional peroxide crosslinks natural rubber, synthetic rubbers and polyolefins, with excellent scorch safety and the possibility of one-step mixing under suitable conditions.
The safe processing temperature is 130 °C (rheometer ts2 > 20 min) and the typical crosslinking temperature is 170 °C (rheometer t90 about 12 min). For transport it is classified as a flammable solid (class 4.1, UN 1325), not as an organic peroxide. Store Perkadox BC-40B-PD below 30 °C in tightly closed original packaging, in a dry, well-ventilated area away from heat, ignition sources and direct sunlight. Keep it away from reducing agents such as amines, acids, alkalis and heavy metal compounds. It is transported as a flammable solid (class 4.1, UN 1325).
