Trigonox® 301 is an efficient peroxide formulation for the production of controlled rheology polypropylene (CR-PP) in an extrusion process.
Trigonox 301 is a 40–42 % liquid formulation of 3,6,9-triethyl-3,6,9-trimethyl-1,4,7-triperoxonane (CAS 24748-23-0), a cyclic trifunctional peroxide from Nouryon. It is designed for the production of controlled rheology polypropylene (CR-PP) in an extrusion process, where it lowers polypropylene molecular weight in a controlled way to reach a target melt flow index.
With a 1-hour half-life temperature of 146 °C and an SADT of 110 °C, Trigonox 301 stays stable in storage and decomposes at polypropylene extrusion temperatures. It is also used in polymer recycling and modification. For dosing as a solid, the masterbatch form Trigonox 301-20PP is available; Perkadox 14S-FL is another CR-PP peroxide in flake form. Store Trigonox 301 between 10 °C and 40 °C in tightly closed original containers. Keep it above 10 °C. Keep it away from open fire, sparks, heat sources, reducing agents, acids, alkalis and heavy metal compounds. It is shipped as organic peroxide type D, liquid (UN 3105) and does not require temperature-controlled transport.
