Product Description
AEROSIL® 300 is a hydrophilic fumed silica with a specific surface area of 270–330 m²/g — noticeably higher than our AEROSIL® 200 F and AEROSIL® 200 HV grades (175–225 m²/g). That higher surface area gives AEROSIL® 300 a stronger rheological build-up per unit dose, which means less product is needed to reach the same thickening or anti-sag effect — a meaningful cost advantage in high-volume clear coating formulations.
Its finer particle network also disperses to a higher level of transparency once fully wetted out, which is why AEROSIL® 300 is the grade we recommend for clear or low-haze coating systems rather than pigmented or opaque formulations, where the standard 200 m²/g grades are typically sufficient and more cost-effective.

Key Benefits
• higher efficiency — stronger thickening effect per unit dose, so lower loading is typically needed.
• high transparency after good dispersion— suited to clear and low-haze coating systems.
