Trigonox 101-45D-PD overview

Trigonox 101-45D-PD is 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di(tert-butylperoxy)hexane (DHBP, CAS 78-63-7) at 44–46 % on an inert carrier system, supplied as an off-white powder by Nouryon. This bifunctional peroxide crosslinks natural rubber, synthetic rubbers and polyolefins. Compounds made with it show good scorch safety, and under suitable conditions it allows one-step mixing.

The powder form makes DHBP easy to weigh and disperse in rubber compounds. The safe processing temperature is 135 °C (rheometer ts2 > 20 min) and the typical crosslinking temperature is 175 °C (rheometer t90 about 12 min). Storage and handling

Store Trigonox 101-45D-PD between 0 °C and 30 °C in tightly closed original packaging, in a dry, well-ventilated area away from heat, ignition sources and direct sunlight. Keep it away from reducing agents such as amines, acids, alkalis and heavy metal compounds. It is shipped as organic peroxide type E, solid (UN 3108).
