Production Description

Application
Ethylene glycol is primarily used in formulating antifreeze for automotive cooling systems and in the production of polyethylene terephthalate (a raw material for polyester fibers and polyester plastics). It is also employed in the manufacture of various other synthetic resins, solvents, lubricants, surfactants, softening agents, humectants, and more. Ethylene glycol is often used as a substitute for glycerol, serving as a hydrating agent in the leather industry Ethylene glycol forms a wide variety of esters, which are widely used as solvents. Ethylene glycol esters of long-chain fatty acids exhibit surface-modifying properties and can be used alone or with other surfactants as emulsifiers, stabilizers,dispersants, humectants, foaming agents, and suspending agents.
