Product Description

Trigonox® HMa is a methyl isobutyl ketone peroxide (MIBKP) formulation for curing unsaturated polyester resins, either as such or in the presence of a cobalt accelerator, in the temperature range of 60–150°C.

Combined with a cobalt accelerator (e.g. Accelerator NL-49PN), Trigonox® HMa suits applications requiring a long gel or production time at ambient temperature with a fast cure at higher temperatures (e.g. 60–100°C) — application areas include filament winding and the production of flat and corrugated sheets. Even without a cobalt accelerator, Trigonox® HMa shows high reactivity at elevated temperatures due to its low activation temperature, and can be used successfully in the range of approximately 80–150°C: for flat and corrugated sheet production where cobalt-accelerator discoloration is not acceptable, and as a kicker for pultrusion applications in combination with a low-reactive peroxide such as Trigonox® 29-IN50 or Trigonox® C. The low-reactive peroxide must be included in the formulation to achieve a complete cure.
