Product Detail

Product Description

Trigonox® 249 is a peroxide blend specially developed for curing unsaturated polyester and vinylester resins at ambient conditions in conjunction with a metal accelerator. It can also be applied on its own for curing UP resins at elevated temperatures. Trigonox® 249 produces lower exotherms than standard MEKPs, making it useful in warm and hot weather climates. Application areas include cast polymer and laminates.

Thermal Stability & Storage

As with all organic peroxides, Trigonox® 249 is thermally unstable and can undergo self-accelerating decomposition. The Self-Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT), determined by the Heat Accumulation Storage Test per UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, is 60°C.

Maximum storage temperature (Ts max.): 25°C. Under recommended storage conditions, Trigonox® 249 remains within specification for at least 3 months after delivery. Store in a dry, well-ventilated place away from heat and ignition sources and direct sunlight; never weigh out product in the storage room; avoid contact with reducing agents (e.g. amines), acids, alkalis, and heavy metal compounds (e.g. accelerators, driers, metal soaps). Refer to the Safety Data Sheet for full handling guidance prior to use.
