Trigonox 93 is ideal for applications such as fiberglass-reinforced plastics (FRP), composite molding, and chemical-resistant laminates. It offers excellent storage stability and good compatibility with a variety of resin systems, ensuring reliable performance in both open and closed mold processes.
Product Description
Trigonox® 93 is a promoted tert-butyl peroxy ester for the cure of unsaturated polyester and vinylester resins, based on an aromatic perester (tert-butylperoxybenzoate) formulated with acetylacetone. An aliphatic perester alternative, Trigonox® 42PR, can also be used.
Trigonox® 93 has been developed for curing unsaturated polyester resins in combination with a cobalt accelerator (e.g. Accelerator NL-53N, 10% cobalt) in the temperature range of 60°C and higher. Trigonox® 93 plus a cobalt accelerator can effectively be used as a match for Trigonox® 21S in areas where Trigonox® 21S is restricted by its official transport and storage temperature limit of max. 20°C. Combined with a cobalt accelerator and, where needed, an amine accelerator such as N,N-Dimethylaniline, Trigonox® 93 is also well suited to ambient-temperature curing of vinylester resins — giving a much faster cure in these resins than the commonly applied peroxides Butanox® LPT-IN and Trigonox® 239.
