LOCTITE®FREKOTE Frewax®is a unique combination of awax and a Frekote®semi-permanent polymer release agent.This combination provides the user with the advantages of aneasy-to-apply liquid wax and the multiple release performanceof a polymer resin. By incorporating a wax into the formulation,a visible film is produced that enables easy, user-friendlyapplication and complete mold coverage. Using LOCTITE®FREKOTE Frewax®provides significant process and laborsavings through better mold utilization.

How It's Used

Molds should be thoroughly cleaned and dried before application — Frekote® PMC or a similar cleaner can remove prior release residue. Frewax® is shaken or stirred before use, then wiped on with a clean, lint-free cotton cloth in generous, overlapping sections until the mold is fully covered and allowed to haze. Uncoated areas — visible because the wax film shows where haze hasn't formed — get a re-application, and the coated mold is then polished to a high gloss with a clean cloth. A total of four coats builds enough film thickness for multiple releases before the mold is ready for use, and touch-up coating at the first sign of reduced release keeps performance consistent.

Frewax® is not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems, or as a sealant against chlorine or other strong oxidizers. Applying it at mold temperatures above 35°C can cause streaking.

Storage

Store in the original, unopened container in a dry location, classified as flammable, and kept away from oxidizing agents and combustible materials. Optimal storage is 8°C to 21°C — storage below 8°C or above 28°C can affect product properties. Material removed from the container should not be returned to it once it may have been contaminated during use.
