Description

Palatal® A 400 TV-957 S is a pre-accelerated, thixotropic unsaturated polyester resin based on isophthalic acid and standard glycols, dissolved in styrene. The resin has low viscosity and medium reactivity, with an incorporated color change system. Components based on it feature superior dimensional stability and low fiber print.

Application

Palatal® A 400 TV-957 S is well suited for hand lay-up and spray techniques. It readily impregnates reinforcing materials during lay-up and does not run off inclined laminates. It is specially used for marine applications such as hulls and decks, and for tanks and pipes that contact water. It has low exotherm, low shrinkage, good tack-free property, good mechanical properties, and high HDT.

Palatal® A 400 TV-957 has been approved as a 1 Class resin by China Classification Society (CCS) for boat building.

Application Guidelines

Room-temperature-cured product should be thoroughly post-cured for best properties. Cure at room temperature for 24 hours before post-curing. It is better to leave the part at room temperature for 24–48 hours before assembly processes such as drilling.

Storage & Handling

Store in a dark, dry place at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C. Shelf life is reduced when stored at higher temperatures, and resin properties may change during storage. Store in the dark, in 100% light-tight containers only, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight. A Material Safety Data Sheet is available on request.
