Description
SWANCOR CHEMPULSE 901 is a bisphenol-A type epoxy vinyl ester resin, positioned as a premium grade with improved reactivity and purity over standard vinyl ester resins. It provides excellent corrosion resistance to a broad range of organic and inorganic acids, alkalis, oxidizing chemicals, and salt solutions. Reinforced with glass fiber, carbon fiber, or Kevlar fiber, it delivers strong tensile and flexural mechanical properties, with superior toughness and fatigue resistance supported by a high heat distortion temperature.A pre-accelerated version, CHEMPULSE 901-P, is also available — supplied as a violet-red liquid (versus clear yellowish for standard 901) with a shorter shelf life (4 months versus 9 months at 25°C) in exchange for more predictable, ready-to-use gel times.

Advantages
●
Lower viscosity for better fiber wet-out
●
Less or no DMA needed — easier formulation and cost savings
●
Lower casting color for better see-through bubble checking
●
Lower exotherm, meaning less cracking, fewer cure cycles, and better quality
●
Longer shelf life for better inventory control
Application
● Chemical storage tanks, pipes, flue gas desulfurization systems (FGD), scrubbers, ducts.
●
Corrosion resistant flooring while incorporated with aggregates.
●
Waste water treatment systems.
●
Food storage tanks and pure water system.
●
Marine use for yachts and boats.
Notice in Use
●
Blending SWANCOR CHEMPULSE 901 with cobalt-salt promoters shortens shelf life — promoted resin must be used within 3 months.
●
Gel time is affected primarily by catalyst concentration and temperature; catalyst, humidity, pigment, fillers, and other additives can also shift cure characteristics. Check cure behavior with a small batch before scaling up.
●
Contains organic solvent (styrene) — keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames.
●
A potentially reactive chemical — store in the dark, away from heat and direct sunlight.
●
Reseal containers immediately after use if not completely emptied.
