On May 12, 2026, Unitree Robotics released the GD01, the world's first mass-produced manned transformable mecha. Standing approximately 2.5 meters tall in its upright form, an adult standing beside it only reaches its waist. Built with a full-metal frame and multi-joint servo drives, it features a comfortable cockpit; with an operator inside, the entire machine weighs about
500 kg.
Its most stunning feature is its dual-mode switching capability:
- Bipedal Mode: In its upright state, it walks on two legs like a humanoid robot and possesses enough power to topple a solid
brick wall with a single punch.
- Quadrupedal Mode: When encountering complex terrain, the chassis presses downward, the legs fold, and the center of gravity
shifts. Within seconds, it transforms into a four-legged form, using its "palms" for support to continue moving.
The entire transformation process is seamless and fluid, and the mecha remains fully capable of carrying its operator throughout the transition.
Production Advantages
-World's First Mass-Produced Manned Mecha: The first manned transformable mecha to achieve mass production and delivery globally; a tangible product rather than a mere concept.
-Seamless Dual-Mode Switching: Capable of transitioning from an upright bipedal form to a quadrupedal form in seconds, adapting to both flat surfaces and complex terrains.
-Powerful Performance: Delivers enough force to topple solid brick walls with a single punch; the explosive power and precision
of the robotic arms far exceed industry expectations.
-Full-Metal Framework: Constructed with proprietary high-strength alloys and precision servo systems to ensure durability and pilot safety.
-Advanced AI Motion Control: Powered by Unitree's self-developed algorithms, ensuring stable bipedal walking and agile quadrupedal movement with controlled power output.
-Manned Cockpit Design: Features a comfortable internal seat, allowing an operator to sit inside and directly pilot this "iron beast."
-Civilian Tool Positioning: Beyond military or film use, it serves civilian roles such as high-end personal mobility, engineering tasks, and emergency rescue.
-Proven by the Founder: Unitree founder Xingxing Wang personally piloted the unit to demonstrate walking, transforming, and
obstacle breaching-all shown in unedited, real-time footage.
-A Sci-Fi Milestone Made Real: Brings manned mechas from films like Gundam and Pacific Rim into reality, marking China's global leadership in robotics.
-Exclusive High-End Positioning: Priced from 3.9 million RMB, targeting special operations firms, film studios, high-net-worth collectors, and tourism operators.
