shown by the representative structure, JEFFAMINE D-230 polyetheramine is a difunctional, primary amine with an average molecular weight of about 230. The primary amine groups are located on secondary carbon atoms at the end of the aliphatic polyether chain.
Description
JEFFAMINE® D-230 is a difunctional, primary amine polyetheramine from Huntsman, built on repeating oxypropylene units with an average molecular weight of about 230. The primary amine groups sit on secondary carbon atoms at the ends of the aliphatic polyether chain, giving the cured system a combination of low viscosity, low color, and low vapor pressure that's uncommon among amine curing agents.
It is completely miscible with a wide range of solvents, including water, and cures to give tough, clear, impact-resistant coatings, castings, and adhesives — without the surface blush that affects many other amine curing agents.
JEFFAMINE® D-230 is difunctional, giving it lower viscosity and lower AHEW than Huntsman's trifunctional JEFFAMINE T-403, which is used instead where a branching/crosslinking curing agent is needed rather than a simple chain extender.
