DERAKANE™ MOMENTUM 470-300 is a novolac-based vinyl ester resin designed for exceptional mechanical properties at higher temperatures. It offers high resistance to solvents and chemicals, good retention of strength and toughness at elevated temperatures, and excellent resistance to acidic oxidizing environments. Like other MOMENTUM-generation resins, its lighter color makes defects easier to see and correct while workable, and its longer stability gives fabricators added storage and handling flexibility.

DERAKANE™ MOMENTUM 470-300 offers an economical alternative to exotic alloys, allowing lower-cost FRP to replace traditional materials in corrosive service (contact us before using thixotropic agents and fillers, as these can compromise corrosion resistance). It contains only 33 weight percent styrene, reducing styrene emissions and helping fabricators meet California's South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule 1162.

Application
Suitable for high-temperature scrubbing, ducting, piping, and storage; industrial waste treatment facilities; solvent extraction processes used in mining; hydrochloric acid transport; tank, truck, and railcar linings; and gasohol storage.
Recommended for most commercial FRP fabrication processes, including hand lay-up, spray-up, pultrusion, and resin transfer molding. The higher-viscosity DERAKANE™ MOMENTUM 470-300 HV grade facilitates filament winding applications. For even higher-temperature applications, DERAKANE™ 470HT-400 is available.
