CAB-O-SIL® fumed silicas are packaged in color-coded, multi-wall Kraft paper bags. Grade M-5 is packaged in North America in 10-lb bags and in Europe in 10-kg bags. The bags are unitized and sized to provide product protection, facilitate efficient handling, and maximize payloads. CAB-O-SIL® M-5 is a synthetic, amorphous, colloidal fumed silica from Cabot Corporation. Its extremely small particle size, large surface area, high purity, and chain-forming particle structure give it strong rheology-control, reinforcement, and anti-caking performance across a wide range of formulations. It is supplied as a light, fluffy white powder.
With a BET surface area of 200 m²/g, CAB-O-SIL® M-5 sits in the same surface-area class as our AEROSIL® 200 F and AEROSIL® 200 HV grades, giving customers with a Cabot brand preference or existing Cabot-based formulation an equivalent-class alternative to qualify against. Exact performance will depend on your specific formulation and should be verified through your own testing.
