Description

BE-501 is a bisphenol A-type solid epoxy resin from Chang Chun Chemical, with an epoxy equivalent weight of 450–550 g/eq and a softening point of 62–72°C — the lowest softening point in Chang Chun's solid resin series (BE-501 through BE-509), which spans up to 130–140°C for BE-509. This lower-molecular-weight position in the series gives BE-501 easier melt flow and lower application viscosity when formulated into powder or coil coatings, at the trade-off of somewhat lower film hardness than the higher-softening-point grades.Supplied with a Gardner color of 1 max, BE-501 is suited to coatings where clarity and low yellowing of the cured film matter, alongside the standard chemical resistance and adhesion expected of bisphenol A epoxy chemistry.
