Description
NPPN-638S is a semi-solid phenolic novolac epoxy resin developed for resin systems that require a highly cross-linked cured network. It combines the heat-resistant characteristics of a phenolic backbone with the reactivity of an epoxy resin.
Compared with conventional bisphenol A-based epoxy resins, which normally contain two epoxy groups per molecule, NPPN-638S contains an average of approximately 3.6 epoxy groups per molecule. This higher epoxy functionality allows properly formulated and cured systems to achieve improved elevated-temperature performance, chemical resistance and adhesion.

Chemical Composition
NPPN-638S is classified as a phenolic novolac epoxy resin.
The phenolic novolac structure provides multiple reactive epoxy groups within each molecule. When combined with a compatible curing system, these functional groups can produce a dense three-dimensional network.
The final processing behavior and cured properties will depend on the selected curing agent, formulation, curing schedule, fillers, reinforcement and production conditions.
